How to turn a photograph into a "pencil sketch".

This will work in either Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Elements. The screen shots and directions are for Photoshop & will have to be modifed slightly for Elements.

Step one: Open photo of person, house, etc.

Step two: Duplicate the layer. (Drag to the new layer icon at the bottom of the pallette

Step three: Go to image - adjust - invert. Now it looks like a negative rather than a photo














Step Four: Go to image - mode- grayscale. Do not merge layers when converting to greyscale!! Make sure you are on the copy layer and that it is the top layer.
